2G Refrigerants Becomes History, 3G Refrigerant Prices Continue To Rise

Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the Plan for Setting and Allocation the Total Quantity of Ozone-Depleting Substances and Hydrofluorocarbons in 2025 (Draft for Solicitation of Comments), which preliminarily formulated the Plan for Setting and Allocation the Total Quantity of the Second and Third Generation Refrigerants in 2025.

In response, Zhang Xiaomei, an analyst with FRIOFLOR Group, told the reporter of China Times that in 2025, the quota of the second generation refrigerant R22 and R141b will be phased out, and the supply of the industry will be further reduced. It accounts for nearly 90% of the total elimination of the second-generation refrigerants, which has good support for the reduction of the products themselves and also for the selling of third-generation refrigerant products R32 and R245fa.

In fact, before the release of the quota plan, the domestic and foreign prices of R32 refrigerant have risen. Sun Yaqi, a refrigerant analyst with FRIOFLOR Group Information, told the reporter of Huaxia Times that the greater impact on the refrigerant price is the pricing of the upcoming fourth quarter long association orders. At present, the domestic mainstream R32 refrigerant manufacturers are willing to maintain or increase price obviously, and the prices of some other refrigerant gases are relatively strong.
