For the r22 refrigerant, the following methods can be used to determine the quality and purity of refrigerant:
Method 1: Turn the refrigerant tank upside down and release a small amount of refrigerant onto a piece of white paper. If there are obvious impurities or liquid water on the white paper, the refrigerant is of poor quality and is not recommended.
Method 2: Connect a pressure gauge to test the pressure of the refrigerant cylinder. Check whether the pressure in the cylinder is within the normal range according to the refrigerant temperature and pressure characteristic table. If the pressure is obviously abnormal, do not use the refrigerant cylinder.
Method 3: When the refrigerant is half used, test the pressure in the bottle again. For the refrigerant with a single component, such as r22, the pressure in the bottle should be very close. However, for the refrigerant with poor quality, the pressure in the bottle is usually mixed with multiple components. After the refrigerant in the cylinder is used, the pressure of the cylinder may vary greatly due to the change of the proportion of the components. In case of this phenomenon, it is recommended that the refrigerant be stopped immediately and the refrigerant that has been filled in the system be discharged to avoid polluting the system.
