R410A Refrigerant vs. R134A Refrigerant
Although the two refrigerants are environmentally friendly refrigerants to replace R22 refrigerants, both have their own characteristics. We will analyze the differences between R410A refrigerants and R134A refrigerants according to their different characteristics.
1. R134A refrigerant is a single component refrigerant, while R410A refrigerant is a mixed refrigerant.
(The advantage of mixing refrigerants is that they can be tailored to suit the specific requirements of their use, taking into account various properties such as flammability, capacity, exhaust temperature and efficiency.)
2. The capacity of R134A refrigerant is smaller than that of R22 refrigerant and the pressure is smaller than that of R22 refrigerant, so the same capacity of R134A refrigerant air conditioning requires a compressor with a larger exhaust capacity, a larger
evaporator, condenser, and piping. As a result of this, the R134A refrigerant system is more expensive to manufacture and operate a
system with the same cooling capacity as the R22 refrigerant. The capacity and pressure of R410A refrigerant are higher than that of
R22 refrigerant, and the operating pressure is 50%~60% higher. The result of high pressure and high gas density is not only a smaller
displacement compressor, but also smaller diameter lines and valves.
Therefore, the R410A refrigerant system is less expensive.
